Dear Branch Chiefs and Contacts,
In Japan, the hot summer is over, and we are gradually starting to feel the autumn breeze, which is pleasant and perfect for sports and training. I hope that all of you are doing well in your country and region.
First of all, it is with deep regret that I report to you, the sudden passing of Branch Chief Gyorgy Karmazin (Hungary) on August 1. He was a great Karateka and a capable business man, and contributed largely to the development of the Hungary Branch. Since he was present at the recent 6th World Championship in Weight Categories in Kazakhstan, and seemed to be in good health, his sudden death struck me with deep sadness and shock. Although I am sure that the loss of his presence is a great pain for his family and students, in order to honor the will of Shihan Karmazin, I hope that everyone will unite and continue the branch activities. He will be missed, and may his soul rest in peace.
Time flies, and it is already 2 months after the World Championship in Weight Categories. I am sure that everyone is training hard in each country and region, and preparing for their next goal. In August, the Japan Region held the Karate Dream Festival, and from young children to seniors, in both Kata and Kumite, competitors pursued the title in a total of 140 categories. This tournament, which had a total of 2,318 competitors this year, is recognized internationally as the largest scale Full Contact Karate tournament in the world. The Dream Festival has developed into a very important tournament that symbolizes the pursuit of WKO to establish itself as the absolute and most unique Budo organization in the Full Contact World. Next year, the tournament will be held on June 23-24, due to the planned renovation of the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. The event will be held as an international championship, so I hope to see many overseas competitors at the tournament.
The KWU (Kyokushin World Union), which we enjoy an important partnership with for the worldwide united front of Full Contact Karate, will hold their World Championship in Russia this December. It is with regret, that Japanese competitors will not be participating in this tournament due to the holding of the All Japan Open Karate Championship in October, but many other countries and regions have sent their applications to WKO Headquarters. In coordination with KWU, we will screen the competition level and overall balance of the requested competitors, and finalize the WKO team that will participate in the tournament. I hope for the competitors to do their best and represent WKO with honor. For the Kyokushin related organizations, we would like to actively promote exchanges, based on mutual respect of organization identity, modesty, and rules. In order for the Full Contact Karate world to come together as one, based on a unified competition, it is necessary for all related to continue steady efforts to realize this goal.
The foundation of our activities and development is the strong belief and passion of our Branch Chiefs and Contacts, who do their best to instruct and promote Full Contact Karate in various countries and regions around the world. Уважаемые Бранч-Чифы и Руководители спортивных клубов!
В Японии прошло жаркое лето и постепенно начал дуть прохладный ветер. Осень как спортивный сезон является самой подходящей для тренировки. Я надеюсь, что все бранч-чифы и руководители спортивных клубов во всем мире поживают хорошо.
Прежде всего, я выражаю мою глубокую скорбь по поводу скоропостижной смерти Георгия Кармазина, Бранч-Чифа в Венгрии, который скончался 1-го августа. Он был не только великим Каратистом, но и талантливым бизнесменом, и делал большой вклад в развитие Бранча в Венгрии. Он участвовал совсем недавно в 6-ом Международном Чемпионате в Весовых Категориях в Казахстане и хорошо выглядел. Я был сильно поражён и сильно опечален новостью о его смерти. Несмотря на то, что потеря его присутствия принесет сильную боль его семье и ученикам, я надеюсь, что все вместе объединятся и продолжат активность Бранча из уважения к воле Кармазина, Шихана. Я от души желаю покоя душе Кармазина.
Время летит. Прошло уже два месяца после Международного Чемпионата в Весовых Категориях. Я уверен, что все уже усиленно занимаются ежедневной тренировкой к следующему заданию в ваших бранчах и спортивных клубах. В августе японский регион устроил турнир Karate Dream Festival и конкуренты боролись в 140 категориях в Кумитэ и Ката. Этот турнир, в котором 2,318 конкурентов собрались внутри Японии, получил международное признание как крупнейший турнир Полно-Контактного Каратэ во всем мире. Dream Festival развился как очень важный турнир. Он символизирует нашу достойную цель, устанавливающую репутацию WKO как абсолютной и уникальной организации Будо в мире. В следующем году турнир будет предусмотрен 23-24 июня в связи с реновацией здания Токийского Дворца Спорта. Этот турнир будет проведен как международный чемпионат, и я надеюсь увидеть много иностранных конкурентов в турнире.
Организация KWU (Kyokushin World Union), с которой мы держим тесное партнерство на всемирно объединенном фронте Полно-Контактного Каратэ, планирует провести всемирный турнир в России в декабре. К сожалению, японские борцы не смогут участвовать в этом турнире в связи с совпадением расписания с Открытым Всеяпонским Чемпионатом Каратэ. Много стран и регионов прислали на наш адрес Главного Штата WKO свои заявки на участие в этом турнире. Мы при взаимодействии с KWU проверим соотношение соревнования и урегулируем уровень желающих участников, и таким образом оформим команду WKO, участвующую в турнире. Я надеюсь, что все участники WKO будут бороться всеми силами, представляя достоинство WKO с гордостью. Мы хотели бы активно поддерживать дружественные связи с организациями под Киокушин Каратэ, относиться с уважением взаимной идентичности и сдержанности. Для того, чтобы круги Полно-Контактного Каратэ соединились в единое целое под единым правилом соревнования, нам необходимо приложить настойчиво усилия.
Глубокое убеждение и энтузиазм бранч-чифов и руководителей спортивных клубов во всем мире, содействующих развитию Полно-Контактного Каратэ как руководители, создают прочный фундамент нашей активности. Прошу вас следить за здоровьем, продолжать прилогать ваши ежедневные усилия.
