The 19th Greek Summer Camp successfully took place in Agios Ioannis Pelion Papa Nero, from July 1-4, 2016.
45 athletes and trainers of the hardest Karate style, participated in the event, which was held for the 19th consecutive year, contributing to the development of local tourism and sports.
Official guest was the leading Spanish teacher and international referee Shihan Pedro Soriano, who along with the chief representative of Shinkyokushinkai Greece, Shihan George Kosmidis and Branch Chief of Northern Greece Otario Melikiadis, taught Kihon, Kata, Kumite and presented in the best way the uniqueness and authenticity of the hardest Karate style. Official guest and master of Taekwondo Basilis Alexandris, a close friend and best man’s representative, honorary member of Greek Shinkyokushinkai, presented his kicking techniques, giving a unique image in the seminar. The stay was made at the hotels Karaoulanis Beach, Zefiros Beach, where athletes and trainers enjoyed the beautiful beach of Agios Ioannis and Papa Nero, with excellent service. The sessions were held daily in the morning at the unique Papa Nero Beach by the sea, and in the afternoon at a designated area, under the trees near the Camp. On the last day, Kyu and Dan promotions exams were held by three teachers, and with the presence of Shihan Kostas Gallios, the new member of the Greek Shinkyokushinkai family.
Those who successfully passed the exam were 1st Dan Digalakis Mihalis, 2nd Kyu (brown belt) Nikos Fotiou, 6th Kyu (yellow belt) Maria Georgali, and 8th Kyu (Blue belt) Athenodoros Nanopoulos. All athletes and trainers, demonstrated high technical and competitive level and fighting spirit, revealing the excellent teaching and preparation that takes place in all Shinkyokushinkai dojos. The Camp enjoyed the participation of coaches such as Shihan Gallios Konstantinos (from Palamas Karditsa), Sensei Tziras Athanasios Dalamagas Georgios (both from Larissa), and Yiannakis Nikolaos (from Athens) who recently joined the Union of Greek Shinkyokushinkai and supports the organization and chief representative in central Greece.
At the end of the exam, honorary plaques were awarded to two guest teachers, Shihan Pedro Soriano and Master Vasili Alexandris, while participation certificates were given to everyone with a commemorative T-shirt of the Camp, offering local Volos donor (Tsipouradiko “ The friends “, Grappa Café, Tasty Corner and Mpaxariko). Also presented the prize of degrees and gold-embroidered belt from the WKO Headquarters in Japan, to those who passed the examinations and promoted at the winter camp in January in Chania Pelion.
