The European Championship took place in Debrecen, Hungary, on 24-25 June, 2023. More than 550 competitors from 20 countries participated in the competition.
As usual, Committee and Board meetings were held before the Championship. The Tournament Venue was the Hódos Imre sporthall, where the karatekas could perform on 4 tatamis. The participating countries delegated nearly 70 referees.
It was a great pleasure for the Hungarian Branch to have the EKO Board in the event: especially, Shihan Remigiusz Karpinski, the president of the European Karate Organization and Shihan Michael Söderkvist, the Chief Referee of the tournament.
The Organizing Committee did their best to make the European Championship successful. A great thanks to Sensei Norbert Tokaji and his team for the organization of this event and we are grateful to Shihan Zoltán Pápai, Shihan Dr. Olivér Bogdán and Mrs. Ágnes Litvák who also took a great part in the preparations. In addition, we want to express our gratitude to all the people who supported this event and we would like to highlight Mr. Róbert Nagy the head of the Nagykonyha Company.
