European Championships for Cadets, U22 and Open 2012

On 16th-17th November 2012 in Kielce (Poland), European Championships Kyokushin Shinkyokushin Karate for Cadets, U22 and Open Women and Men and KATA were held. Over 350 competitors from 18 countries took part in this tournament.
Before the Championships, Shihan Alexander Goncharenko from Ukraine led a training for judges.
Special guests were: Shihan Attila Mészáros, Furkó Kálmán, and Romas Vitkauskas. Honorary Patronage was taken by Minister of Sport and Tourism – Anna Mucha, Ambassador of Japan in Poland – Makoto Yamanaka and the authorities of the region and the city.
The European Championships was organized by the European Karate Organization (EKO), the Polish Shinkyokushin Karate Federation (PFKS) and the main organizer was Kyokushin Karate Club of Kielce (Kielecki Klub Karate Kyokushin). The European Championships was very solemn, because it coincided with the 35th anniversary of Kyokushin Karate Club of Kielce. After the Championships, there was a Sayonara at the Lysogory Hotel, which lasted for several hours and was attended by over 600 people. The European Championships was broadcasted by national and local media (radio, TV, and press). Over 6,000 people watched the European Championships and according to observers’ opinions, it was a very successful event and a great promotion of Karate Shinkyokushin.
