The 26th Greek Summer Camp Shinkyokushinkai 2024 was organized by the Greek Shinkyokushinkai Association with the Region of Thessaly as co-organizer, at the Valis Resort and Spa hotel in Agria Volos.
The unique and first summer camp in Greece of the full contact styles with a long history of 26 years and with the longest duration (5 days).
(70) Seventy men and women, instructors and trainers from the countries of England and Serbia, but also from the cities of Greece, Athens, Kilkis, Chania Crete, Xanthi, Polykastro, N. Santa and the regions of Magnesia, Agria Volos, Tsagarada Mouresi participated in a powerful 5-day training session in the morning and afternoon in the hardest Fullcontact style karate, in the specially designed areas and also on the beach of Agria.
The program of the 5-day seminar included training in basic techniques (Kihon) and techniques in an assumed opponent (Kata) in the morning hours and in the afternoon, in competitive techniques and freestyle competition (Kumite).
The summer seminar was taught by Shihan George Kosmidis (Country representative, president of the Greek Shinkyokushinkai-WKO Branch Chief) and Shihan Otario Melikiadis (WKO Branch Chief).
The participants for the first time stayed at the Valis Resort and Spa hotel and had the opportunity to enjoy the beauties of Magnesia, 10′ away from the city of Volos and to tour the facilities and entertainment areas.
From the Greek Shinkyokushinkai Association, the Dojos of the teachers, Shihan Otarios Melikiadis, Sensei Kesidis Viacheslav, Sensei Papadopoulos Grigoriou, Sensei Papagiannidis Filippou, Sensei Krisila Ioannis, Sensei Digalaki Michalis, Senpai Iraklis Pozapalidis and the Headquarters (Honbu) of the Greek Shinkyokushinkai of Shihan George Kosmidis and Sensei Vikis Kosmidou which once again organized the summer seminar.
On the penultimate day of the camp, six (6) athletes and one (1) instructor took part in the standard promotion exams for Dan black belts and kyu degrees according to European and Japanese standards.
The Greek country representative Shihan George Kosmidis thanks the region of Thessaly, and especially the Vice-Regional Governor of Magnesia, Mrs. Anna Maria Papadimitriou, for the co-organization of the region of Thessaly and its participation in the institution of the Greek Shinkyokushinkai by offering the commemorative gifts that were given to all participants. He warmly thanks the Municipality of Volos for its valuable support.
