Dear Branch Chiefs and Contacts,
In Japan, August is ending, and the weather in Tokyo gets cooler with each time it rains. It is still quite hot, but we are starting to feel the end of summer.
Summer camps have been held around the world. The photos and videos in the various reports made me very happy, and it was nice to see the participants training hard, and deepening their friendship by eating and sleeping at the same facility. I would also like to express my deep appreciation towards all of the invitations for Japanese instructors. Thank you for your warm hospitality and care of them during their stay. I believe that all of you trained hard and polished your Budo mind and techniques at the camps. I hope that you were able to find a new part of yourself through the friendship built at the trainings, and that you will be able to pursue infinite possibilities through your further development, regardless of age. I wish for us to have such active approach throughout our lifetime, so that we can enjoy our beautiful lives.
In Japan, we held the annual Karate Dream Festival in Tokyo on August 3-4. 2,528 competitors from young children to seniors participated in the various Kata and Kumite categories. I observed the high-level bouts from the 2nd floor seats, which had a great view of the well-organized 12 courts and the entire arena. The competitors that demonstrated the result of their daily training, and the support from their family members. The dojo instructors and fellow dojo members. The volunteer staff and referees supporting the tournament. The gathering of fellow dojo members, and the result of their hard effort and strong motivation towards this tournament. Tears and smiles. The bitterness of defeat, and the fulfillment of victory. I was touched by the various facial expressions and exchanges between people. When I present the trophies to the prizewinners during the awarding ceremony, I do my best to praise the winners for their achievement, as a sign of my appreciation and respect towards them.
This applies to various tournaments around the world, and although there are winners and losers in competitions, the hard effort of the competitors is noble and deserves much respect, and the stage reached after overcoming such challenge, and the support from all related people, are all precious treasures in our lives. Let us pursue a bright future and a successful life. The Dream Festival in 2020 will be held as an international tournament. I sincerely hope for the participation of competitors from various countries and regions around the world.
For the Dream Festival this year, we used the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza in Chofu City, Tokyo for the first time. We will use this facility for the 12th World Open Karate Championship in November. It is a very modern, well-made gymnasium, and while organizing the Dream Festival, we checked and simulated the organization of the World Championship. We are steadily carrying out the preparation work for the great battle held every 4 years at the world’s highest level. I am looking forward to seeing many spectators and supporters at the big event. The tournament draw for the World Championship has been announced. I believe that the road to the top will be very hard and tough. I wish for the competitors to make good use of each moment of each day, and challenge yourself in hard training until tournament day.
I will attend the Asian Fullcontact Karate Championship in September. This will be held as the Asia Region selection tournament for the 1st World Fullcontact Karate Championship that will be held in Osaka in May 2020. I have high expectations for the great work of the related members in the region, led by Shihan J.B. Sujoto as the Asia Region Board Member, and Kin Meng Chung as the tournament organizer.
Lastly, Branch Chief Kunihiro Suzuki, who is warmly supported by all of you, is steadily recovering due to the continuous effective treatment. He briefly attended the recent Dream Festival, and it was nice to see his positive energy. He still needs to rest and continue treatment, but I hope that his recent visit to the tournament on his own, will be a good motivation and source of strength for him in his path towards full recovery. I believe that with his strong determination and never give up spirit, we will see him healthy again at the World Championship. I wish for your continuous encouragement and support towards him and his family.

В Токио, несмотря на то, что всё ещё немного жарко, с каждым дождём температура опускается всё ниже, и так потихоньку ощущается конец лета.
Летние лагеря были проведены в разных местах мира. Мне приятно смотреть
их доклады с фото и видео, в которых все участники усердно тренировались, и, деля кров и пищу, углубляли дружбу. Я хотел бы поблагодарить за все приглашения в адрес наших инструкторов, высланные различными секторами в мире. Спасибо вам за теплое гостеприимство и заботу в течение их пребывания. Я уверен, что все участники усиленно тренировались, и очистили Будо дух и технику в лагерях. Я надеюсь, что вы смогли познать новую часть себя через дружбу, укрепленную с вашими единомышленниками, и что вы будете искать свои безграничные возможности, независимо от вашего возраста, через ваше собственного развитие. Я надеюсь, что мы будем стремиться к такому позитивному подходу на протяжении всей нашей жизни, чтобы мы смогли полноценно прожить свою богатую жизнь.
В Японии мы провели ежегодный традиционный турнир Karate Dream Festival 3-4 августа. 2,528 конкурентов, от маленьких детей до пожилых, участвовали в различных категориях Ката и Кумите. Я наблюдал ваши поединки на высоком уровне с места на втором этаже. Оттуда был прекрасный вид хорошо организованных 12 кортов и целую арену. Соревнующиеся, которые демонстрировали результат их ежедневной тренировки, и поддержка от их семей. Инструкторы додзё и члены. Волонтеры и судьи, поддерживающие турнир. Собрание членов додзё в этом турнире и результат их усердия и сильной мотивированности в этом турнире. Там были слезы и звонкий смех. Чувство горечи за проигрыш и чувство выполненного долга. В турнирных залах я всегда тронут различным выражением лиц людей. Когда я вручаю награду победителям на церемонии вручения призов, я прилагаю максимальные усилия в прославлении победителей за их достижения, как знак моей благодарности и уважения к ним. Это относится к различным турнирам в мире. Несмотря на то, что всегда существуют победители и проигравшие на соревнованиях, неустанные усилия всех соревнующихся заслуживают быть оценены достойно. И та ступень, достигнутая вами после преодоления трудной задачи, и большая поддержка от всех близких людей – всё это ценные сокровища в вашей жизни. Давайте стремиться к блестящему будущему и успешной жизни. Турнир The Dream Festival в 2020 г. будет проведен как международный турнир. Я искренне надеюсь на участие спортсменов из различных стран и областей мира.
В этом году, для турнира The Dream Festival in 2019, мы в первый раз
использовали The Musashino Forest Sport Plaza в городе Чоху, Токио. Это
помещение планируется использовать для 12-го Открытого Мирового
Чемпионата в ноябре. Это очень современная, хорошо построенная гимназия,
и пока мы организовали The Dream Festival, мы проверили и симулировали
проведение The World Chanpionship. Подготовка идёт нормальными темпами для достойной борьбы, которая проводится на самом высоком уровне через каждые четыре года. Я надеюсь увидеть много зрителей и болельщиков на этом большом мероприятии. Уже опубликована программа соревнований The World Chanpionship. Я уверен, что дорога к вершине будет очень крутой и трудной.
Я желаю соревнующимся с пользой использовать каждый момент каждого дня, и
испытывать себя в усердных тренировках до самого турнира.
Я буду присутствовать на Чемпионате Азии по Полно-контактному Карате в сентябре.
Этот чемпионат будет проведен как предварительные соревнования для Первого
Мирового Чемпионата по Полно-контактному Карате, который планируется
в городе Осака в мае 2020 г. Я очень надеюсь на большую работу относящихся
лиц в этом регионе во главе с Шихан J.B. Sujoto как Член Правления в Районе
Азии, и Kin Meng Chung как организатор турнира.
В заключение, Бранч Чиф Кунихиро Судзуки, который тепло поддерживается
вами всеми, стабильно выздоравливает благодаря постоянному эффективному
лечению. Он коротко присутствовал на последнем Dream Festival, и нам приятно
смотреть на его энергичность. Ему еще нужно отдохнуть и продолжить
лечение. Я надеюсь на то, что его последний визит в турнир дал ему
хороший стимул к полному выздоровлению. Я уверен, что у него твердая
решимость и никогда не отказывающее мужество. Мы вновь увидим его после
выздоровления в Мировом Турнире. Я надеюсь на Вашу продолжительную
поддержку ему и его семье.
