Dear Branch Chiefs and Contacts, Thank you for your continuous support towards the further development of WKO. In Japan, we are in the middle of spring, and in Tokyo, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. With the easing of the COVID-19 related restrictions, there is an increase in overseas visitors, and energetic crowds have returned in various areas of the country. I hope that you are all doing well in your country and region.
Our World Championship is approximately 6 months away. I believe that the selection process in the various countries and regions are being carried out in an active manner. By the time this newsletter is sent to you, in Europe, the European Championship hosted by the Sweden Branch, mainly led by Shihan Brian Fitkin, Shihan Howard Collins, and Shihan Michael Soderkvist, will be organized in a successful manner. For the European competitors, I hope that you will demonstrate the results of your training, do your best, and achieve a result that will secure your selection for the world event. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation towards the hard work of the Sweden Branch to organize such a wonderful tournament.
In Japan, the second selection for the Japan National Team will be carried out and finalized based on the results of the 8 th All Japan Fullcontact Karate Championship that will be held in Osaka on May 20-21. I believe that selection tournaments will also be held in Asia and other regions, so I have high expectations for the great effort of the competitors. I firmly believe that in the World Championship held every 4 years to decide the No. 1 Karateka in the world, the competitor that reaches the top, is the one who went through the hardest and toughest training in the world, by making use of each moment of each day, and becoming the winner in the constant battle within the heart and mind. For all who aim for this tournament, there is a chance, so I hope that you will pursue the hardest and toughest training in the world. In addition, the event outline for the new program, the Kata Category is finalized, so please confirm the details. For the Karateka who desire to take part in the Kata Category, please take this chance and challenge for it. To have the most skillful and beautiful
techniques in the world. To carry out techniques with convincing strength, and to demonstrate the infinite possibilities of Kata. I will be looking forward to seeing such Karateka at the tournament. Let us continue our research of the various positive elements of Karate, and make use of the infinite possibilities we are given.
At the WKO Headquarters, the main preparation work for the tournament has started. Various information will be announced to the Branch Chiefs and Contacts. Please read through them
carefully, and follow the presented deadlines. I kindly ask for your understanding and support so that the burden on the staff can be lightened as much as possible. Let us have in mind, to aim for 1 step by 100 people, instead of 100 steps by 1 person. In relation to the WKO Headquarters, Mr. Hiroshi Tanaka, who worked for the organization for a long time, will be leaving the office at the end of March. His high-level English was beautiful, and he was careful, kind, and demonstrated intelligence in his work. More than anything, he experienced Full Contact Karate, made the effort to learn about it, and showed his love for it in his work. He will still be connected to the organization as an adviser to the WKO Headquarters, and if it is ok with his schedule, he will participate in international/world events as an interpreter and support staff. Although his position will be different, I hope that he will
be able to assist in the further development of WKO. I would like to thank him for his hard work. Ms.Shiori Emoto, who will be his successor, is also a capable and energetic person, so I kindly ask for your guidance and support towards her.
Lastly, the prolonged COVID-19 crisis, the problem in Ukraine, and as in the recent earthquake in Turkey, we continue to face many regional conflicts and natural disasters in the world. I can see on the internet and social media, images of children around the world, training Karate, especially the new white belts, full of energy and kiai in the dojo. The kindness and strength developed through Karate. The appreciation and warmheartedness towards others, and filial piety. Through the worldwide promotion of Full Contact Karate, which has such essence and spirit of Budo as its foundation, we would like to contribute to the realization of peace in the international community. Уважаемые Бранч Чифы и Руководители спортивных залов! Прежде всего, благодарю вас за вашу постоянную поддержку в развитии WKO. В Японии сейчас весна в самом разгаре, и в Токио распустились цветы вишни. В связи с послаблением ограничений COVID-19, у нас увеличилось число иностранных туристов, и в различных городах Японии стало вновь оживлённо. Я надеюсь, что вы поживаете хорошо в ваших странах и регионах.
Наш Мировой Чемпионат спустя 6 месяцев приблизился. Я уверен, что в данное время активно идут отборочные соревнования в разных странах и регионах в мире.Ко времени, когда выйдет этот информационный бюллетень, в Европе будет проходить чемпионат Европы, организованный шведским отделением во главе с сиханом Брайаном Фиткиным, сиханом Ховардом Коллинзом и сиханом Майклом Содерквистом. Я надеюсь, что участники из европейских регионов продемонстрируют результаты их тренировок, приложат максимальные усилия для того, чтобы завоевать место в сборной в Мировом Чемпионате из Европы. Я также хотел бы выразить мою сердечную благодарность за тяжелую работу Шведский филиал, который организует такой чудесный турнир.

Обращаясь к Каратека, которые практикуют Ката, прошу вас использовать этот шанс и смело попытать свои силы в этом разделе. Я с нетерпением ожидаю увидеть такого Каратека в турнире, который продемонстрирует своё мастерство, самые мощные и красивые техники в мире, выражающие бесконечные возможности. Давайте продолжим исследовать различные положительные элементы Карате, и используем его безграничные возможности.
В Главном штабе WKO началась основная подготовительная работа для этого турнира. Различная информация будет распространена среди мастеров филиалов и мастеров додзё. Прошу вас прочитать внимательно и ответить в назначенный срок. Я любезно прошу вашего понимания и поддержки, чтобы по мере возможности снизить нагрузку наших сотрудников. Давайте стремиться более к тому, чтоб сделать по одному шагу ста людьми, чем сто шагов одним человеком. Кстати, господин Хироси Танака, много лет работающий в Главном штабе, в конце марта уйдет на пенсию, хотя это и прискорбно. Он прекрасно владеет английским языком, и всегда относится заботливо к работе. а главное, он испытал Фул Контакт Карате, старался больше научиться ему, и вкладывал в свою работу любовь. Он еще будет поддерживать отношения с нашей организацией как советник Главного Штаба WKO, и по мере того, как будет позволять его расписание, он будет участвовать в международных и мировых мероприятиях как переводчик и поддерживать наши кадры. Несмотря на то, что его статус изменится, я надеюсь, что он продолжит помогать в дальнейшем развитии WKO. Я хочу поблагодарить его за его работу.
