The 2024 Kokoro Cup gathered top Kyokushin fighters in Napier, New Zealand, for an open tournament featuring elite representatives from all major Kyokushin groups in the country, alongside competitors from Shinkyokushinkai Australia. This annual event celebrates Shinkyokushin and highlights the sport’s intensity and precision in the region.
Special guest Senpai Rina Tanaka, internationally renowned Kata champion with titles in the WKO 2023 13th World Tournament and the WKO 56th All Japan Championship, served as both the Kata centre referee and a Kumite judge.
Tanaka impressed the crowd with a flawless demonstration of Sushiho Kata, underscoring the technical mastery that has won her acclaim worldwide.
The Kokoro Cup brought together Shinkyokushin enthusiasts and international visitors, reaffirming New Zealand’s vibrant presence in the global Kyokushin community and offering fans a thrilling showcase of Karate excellence.
