Place: Limpopo Province (Namakgale, Mokopane, Giyani), South Africa
Organizers: WKO Branch Chief Medupi Robert Lechelele
Limpopo Shinkyokushinkai Karate is a proud member of World Karate Organization Shinkyokushinkai.
The Limpopo Province branch under the leadership of Sensei Medupi Robert Lechelele hosted a range of training tours (gashuku) in different regions of Limpopo Province from January 12 to February 3, 2018. The aim of the tours was to teach karate in both urban and rural communities and to provide the young karatekas with an opportunity to shine and create a legacy for themselves and their instructors. The training tours also served as an inspiration for the community and athletes to lead a healthy lifestyle, and to keep the youth in the communities away from illegal activities and indulging in illegal substances such as drugs and alcohol abuse. The tour provided support to instructors to spread karate and teach karate in various communities in their respective regions.
The training tours started on January 12-14 from Friday to Sunday evening at Namakgale hosted by Sempai Sydeck Monyela. It was attended by 49 participants. On January 26-28 the training was in Mokopane hosted by Sempai Phillip Nkuna. The training was attended by 30 participants. At Mokopane we managed to open a new dojo at Sekgakgapeng village. The last training tour was in Giyani on February 3, 2018 hosted by Sempai Alvis Shiluvane. It was attended by 35 karatekas. We also opened a new dojo at Lulekane, near Phalaborwa.
The training tours were successfully held and all the karatekas observed the principles of Shinkyokushinkai Karate. I sincerely wish all karatekas and instructors the best of luck on this journey. I would like to express my appreciation to karatekas and to the instructors who contributed towards making the training tours possible. It is my honor to welcome everybody and our new dojo members to the WKO Shinkyokushinkai in Limpopo. I am committed to working hard to teach and spread karate in the province and to take Limpopo Shinkyokushinkai Karate to greater heights.
Kind regards;
